U4GM What Is BO7 Cursed Mode Relics Guide

Black Ops 7 Zombies Cursed Mode on Ashes of the Damned is brutal: no minimap, bare starts, and Relic trials that stack nasty debuffs, plus tips to unlock them and chase Tier IV Pack-a-Punch.

Cursed Mode has a way of humbling you fast, even if you've been living in Zombies for years. With the minimap gone and your loadout basically stripped back to a sidearm, every corner feels like a test. A lot of players I've run with started looking up CoD BO7 Boosting options just to get over that first big wall, because this mode only showed up for everyone after the world-first crew cleared the Ashes of the Damned main quest, and it kinda shows in the difficulty.

Relics Change The Whole Run.

The real engine of Cursed Mode is the Relic system. There are nine in total, split into three groups: Grim, Sinister, and Wicked. You can hunt them whenever you like, but here's the sting—you can't equip them until you've cleared the main quest at least once. So you end up doing these "prep" runs where you're learning locations, setting up faster, and grabbing pieces for later. And yeah, the pay-off is huge: Golden Armor, Tier IV Pack-A-Punch, and the kind of power that makes late rounds feel less like a coin toss.

Grim Relics: Your First Reality Check.

Most squads hit their first real frustration with Grim Relics, because they ask for clean execution when you're already tired. Dragon Wings is a classic example. First, survive to Round 20. Second, Pack-A-Punch something reliable. Third, take the Jump Pad between Vandorn Farm and Janus Towers and shoot three purple-glowing orbs while you're airborne. Miss one and you're doing another lap. Nail them and a portal pops at the barn, where the trial flips power-ups into traps—grab a Nuke out of habit and you'll regret it instantly.

Fire Tricks, Shock Mimics, And No Shopping.

Lawyer's Pen is another Round 20 gate, but this one's about prep and timing. Bring Molotovs or run Napalm Burst, then light three red candles: the roadside cabin, a shelf near Jugger-Nog in Ashwood, and the Vandorn bedroom. The trial throws Shock Mimics at you nonstop, so don't go in with a "let's see what happens" mindset. After you've got Grim equipped and you've lived long enough to hit Level 40, Sinister Relics start calling your name. The VRIL Sphere wants you to bait a Doppelghast onto a Jump Pad and kill it mid-launch, and the trial punishes you by disabling all purchases, so stock up first or you're stuck scraping.

Sinister Steps That Actually Pay Off.

If you'd rather do something more methodical, the Focusing Stone is messy but doable: melee a Zursa, then finish a Legendary T.E.D.D. task that has you collecting wine bottles for the Blackwater Lake bar. It's a bunch of small jobs that can fall apart if your team rushes, but the reward path is legit—Ultra weapon rarity changes how your whole run feels. And if you're trying to get that first clear so you can finally equip what you've earned, having a plan (or a little help like cheap CoD BO7 Boosting when you're stuck) can be the difference between another wasted night and actually moving forward.
